PRESS RELEASE - August 2007 LOCAL PET SITTING BUSINESS CELEBRATES 4 YEARS BY STARTING CHARITY FUND FOR COMMUNITY PETS Euless, TX, August 28, 2007 --Danielle Chonody, owner of Claws, Paws & Jaws Pet Sitting, is celebrating her businesses’ 4th anniversary by starting a charity fund for community pets. She will be donating $100 a month to local animal rescues and no-kill animal shelters. “I am concerned about the growing number of pets in Texas that do not find homes and are destroyed each year,” Chonody said. “My goal is to help local animal rescues take in more dogs from shelters and attract more foster homes.” This month Chonody will be donating to the North Texas Basset Hound Rescue. “I like the way they pull animals from shelters and put them in loving foster homes” she said. “They then carefully screen adoptive candidates before placing these dogs in a permanent home.” Chonody is an avid animal lover and has been a pet owner most of her life. She has been a supporter of animal rescue for years and has done extensive volunteer work. She’s fostered several labs from the Dallas/Fort Worth Labrador Rescue and participated in their annual golf tournament and Christmas wrapping program. In addition, she adopted her lab, Tanner, from DFW Rescue in 2005. “We adopted Tanner after our black lab, Mackie, passed away suddenly at 3 years of age,” Chonody commented. “He has filled our home with his smiling face and wagging tail. He is a great companion.” Chonody hopes her donation program will inspire local residents to adopt a needy pet. “I want to encourage more people to consider adoption of a rescue pet instead of buying a dog or cat from a breeder or pet store.” Her love for animals is what prompted Chonody to begin her pet sitting business, Claws, Paws & Jaws, in 2003. “In my business, I’m committed to promoting the health and happiness of companion animals,” Chonody said. And she is taking that commitment one step further by reaching out to needy pets throughout North Texas. In the coming months, she will be accepting suggestions and nominations for local charities at her website www.clawspawsjaws.com. Claws, Paws &Jaws offers professional, in-home pet care to the residents of Euless, Bedford, Colleyville, Hurst, Southlake, Grapevine, and North Richland Hills. Services include daily dog walking and in-home pet sitting. ### | |||||||
